Zr對Mg-Gd-Er合金的晶粒細化機理研究The Study on the Grain Refinement Mechanism of Mg-Gd-Er Alloys Via Addition of Zr

本文利用OM、EBSD對比分析了Zr的加入對Mg-Gd-Er合金凝固組織的影響,采用DSC測試了兩種合金熔體的過冷度,計算了Zr的加入對合金熔體潤濕角及形核激活能的影響,利用HTEM分析Zr與Mg的界面關系及Zr的加入對界面能的影響。研究結果表明:Zr的加入能明顯細化Mg-Gd-Er合金的晶粒尺寸,晶粒尺寸由大概率的1000μm降到了50μm,細化效果明顯;Zr的加入使合金熔體的潤濕角由18.3°降到了11.1°,熔體的形核激活能降低了44.4%;Mg的(10-10 )面與Zr的( 1-100)面完全共格,降低了Mg和Zr之間的界面能。熔體潤濕角的降低和Mg與Zr的完全共格界面關系是細化Mg-Gd-Er合金晶粒尺寸的有效機制。

In this paper, the effect of Zr addition on the solidification structure of Mg-Gd-Er alloy was analyzed by using OM and EBSD. Moreover, the undercooling of alloy melts was tested by DSC. The influences of Zr addition on the melt wetting angle and nucleation activation energy were calculated. Furthermore, the interfacial relationship between Zr and Mg was studied by using HRTEM. The effect of Zr addition on interfacial energy has also been investigated. The results indicates that the addition of Zr element can significantly refine the grain, and the grain size decreased from 1000 μm to 50 μm. Comparing with the Zr-free alloy, the nucleation wetting angle of the present alloy melt decreased from 11.2° to 6.8°, and the activation energy of nucleation decreases by 44.4%. The (10-10) plane of Mg was completely coherent with the (1-100) plane of Zr, reducing the interfacial energy between the (10-10) plane and the (1-100) plane. The grain refinement of Mg-Gd-Er alloy was ascribed to the decrease of melt wetting angle and the fully coherent interface relationship between Mg and Zr.
